Eligibility & Requirements

Master’s or equivalent in computer science, information technology, telecommunications, engineering or related. Practical UNIX/Linux, networks, cybersecurity, storage and HPC knowledge. Excellent English.
Experience in academic/research institutions, telephony/building security systems, AI tools for infrastructure management, major ICT upgrades; Italian or other UNESCO language.
At least 4 years progressively responsible experience in IT infrastructure management, server/network administration, technical team leadership and supporting HPC environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage the IT Infrastructure Team and technical helpdesk priorities.
• Design, maintain and troubleshoot UNIX/Linux servers, storage, datacentres, LAN/WLAN and connected devices.
• Coordinate cybersecurity and compliance with data protection requirements.
• Support ICTP high-performance computing research and infrastructure modernisation, procurement and technical training.
