1. Who We Are
TanzCareer is an online platform for discovering career, education and professional development opportunities in Tanzania and internationally. For operator details or questions about who handles your information, use the privacy enquiry category on our Contact page.
Kemotechtz Technology & Engineering is acknowledged as Technology Development & Project Partner. That credit does not automatically make Kemotechtz the owner, operator or data controller. Any personal-data processing relationship is separate from the development credit.
2. Information We Collect
What we process depends on the features you use. Public opportunities can be read without registering. We do not ask for sensitive documents through the public contact form.
- Account registration: name, email address, password hash, agreement records and optional marketing preference. Verification and password-reset tokens support account security.
- Optional profile features: contact and professional details, education, work history, skills, location preferences and a profile photograph where you provide them.
- Personal account tools: saved/hidden opportunities, followed organizations, alert and notification preferences, application tracking records, notes and references to career documents already associated with the account.
- Employer features, where available: organization details, work-email verification and supporting information submitted through the relevant verification forms.
- Contact and reporting: the name, reply email, category, subject, message and optional opportunity link you submit. Listing reports record the reported issue and explanation.
- Operations and security: session/device information, IP and browser information where recorded by security or server logs, diagnostic events and account/application actions. Internal search telemetry records normalized queries and filter information with pseudonymous references.
- Optional browser measurement: only when the service is configured and the relevant cookie consent is valid. Cookie choices contain no advertising identifier or contact details.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to provide the account and browsing services you request, maintain security, respond to enquiries, process reports, deliver configured account alerts and improve discovery. Applicable legal obligations may require additional records or responses.

4. Opportunity Applications
Most listings direct visitors to independent organizations to complete applications. Those websites apply their own privacy policies and procedures. Opening an application link is not proof that you submitted an application.
The platform’s personal application tracker can store your own reported application details and status. It does not automatically send a CV or other account documents to an employer when you browse, save a listing or record an external application.
7. Retention
Accounts, profile information, consent records and application tracking are retained according to the feature’s operational needs, user requests, security requirements and applicable legal obligations. Account deletion is a reviewable request, not an assurance of immediate removal from every record or backup.
Contact enquiry details are encrypted while waiting to be sent. That temporary copy is removed once our email service accepts the message. Failed or interrupted delivery payloads are scheduled for removal after 7 days. This does not delete copies already accepted by a mail provider or retained in the support mailbox.
Retention periods depend on resolving the request, operating the chosen feature, safeguarding the service and applicable duties. Contact us to ask about retention of your particular information.
8. Security
TanzCareer uses HTTPS, access controls, password hashing, protected sessions, CSRF checks and restricted storage for private account resources. Contact queue payloads and the consent-preference cookie are encrypted. These measures reduce risk, but no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.
9. International Processing
Hosting, communications and any enabled external services can involve processing outside Tanzania. For questions about where your information is processed and the arrangements applicable to it, use the privacy enquiry category on our Contact page.
10. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where consent applies. Do not submit identity documents through the public form; proportionate identity verification may be arranged through an appropriate support process.
Account settings allow available profile and notification changes. The account security screen supports deactivation and a deletion request, subject to its password and confirmation checks. You may also contact the Tanzania Personal Data Protection Commission for regulatory enquiries.
11. Children’s Information
Registration does not currently verify a minimum age. We therefore do not claim that all account holders have passed an age or guardian-consent check. Parents and guardians can use the privacy enquiry category to raise concerns about a child’s information. Do not send a child’s sensitive information through the public contact form. Contact our team if you need to discuss age-appropriate handling or guardian arrangements.
12. Updates and Contact
We may update this policy when services, technology or relevant obligations change. The version and effective date are shown on this page. Material changes to optional browser purposes require a fresh preference decision. For account alerts, the homepage email prompt leads to registration; it does not by itself complete a standalone newsletter subscription.
