This senior technical leadership role oversees mechanical maintenance of fixed processing-plant equipment, supporting infrastructure and compressors. It is responsible for developing maintenance strategies, improving asset integrity and equipment availability, supporting safe production and managing operational maintenance budgets.
The superintendent coordinates work with mine operations, projects, supply chain, technical services and health and safety teams. Maintenance planning, engineering governance, preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment-reliability improvement, team capability and cost management form key parts of the position.

Eligibility & Requirements
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification. Strong competence in fixed-plant maintenance, reliability, financial control, safety compliance and technical leadership.
- Minimum ten years of experience in process plant maintenance, engineering or reliability in mining, heavy industry or large processing environments. Required background includes mechanical maintenance, management of multi-section teams, budget control, reliability improvement, shutdown execution and exposure to capital projects.
Responsibilities
Develop and oversee preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance programmes.
Coordinate planned shutdowns, maintenance campaigns and complex mechanical troubleshooting.
Analyze equipment failure patterns and lead root-cause investigations to improve reliability.
Monitor asset integrity, risk controls, statutory compliance and safety standards.
Manage annual mechanical maintenance budgets, forecasts, labour and contractor expenditure.
Support capital projects, commissioning and operational readiness.
Direct performance management, coaching, succession planning and development of maintenance teams.
Drive continuous improvement, engineering audits and management-of-change processes.
